Fairyhouse is the home of
one of Irelands best sporting occasions, THE IRISH GRAND NATIONAL,
this year won by Commanche Court, held over the Easter Bank
holiday this is truly a great spectator event which always draws a
huge crowd. Easter Monday and Fairyhouse are synonomous. The
Jameson Irish Grand National is always held on Easter Monday, which
means that the race can be held in March but more frequently
sometime early in April.
The facilities at the course are excellent, the new
grandstand provides good viewing over the whole course, the catering
and bar service is good and of a high standard. With the course
being located very close to Dublin, see map above for exact
location, all fixtures are well attended, especially the December
Meetings. Dundalk would be one of Ireland's least known racing
venue's but is well worth a visit to one of the well attended
fixtures listed below. Especially the evening meetings in June and
July.
