A gem of a racecourse !

Listowel is one of the "Fun Festivals of Racing" in Ireland. A mixture of Flat and National Hunt (Jump) Racing, this COUNTY KERRY course has a lot to offer the casual and experienced race-goer alike.
Quite flat and oval in shape the racecourse offers the spectator good viewing and you are plenty close enough to the action.
The KERRY NATIONAL is run here once a year and is always a fiercely contested, and betted on race.
This should be one of the events you go to every year if you are in any way interested in Horse Racing. The people attending make this event, good craic and fun all the time win or loose. ( Go to the Thatch Pub up the road after racing to continue the session !).
The racing here is generally good class and good horses, particularily the jump horses run here. Well worth a Visit.

If you are planning a trip to the LISTOWEL FESTIVAL please be aware that this is a very busy meeting and that unless you book in advance you may not be able to get accommodation and transport arranged. 

The course itself gets crowded easily, but somehow they seem to fit everyone in allright! The secret here is to come early and if possible arrange your accommodation well in advance otherwise you may find yourself travelling a long distance to the course.
