Locaboat Ireland, based in Ballinamore, County Leitrim, is perfectly located at the gateway to the "Shannon-Erne Waterway". This, our second largest river system will allow you to explore the northern region of Ireland.

The Ballinamore canal has recently been magnificently restored and for the first time this century allows one to cruise through a dream landscape. The system is 63km long, has 34 fine old bridges and 16 locks. Rivers alternate with canals, lakes are studded with islands in a unique mixture of peaceful, untouched landscape.


From Ballinamore, you may also enter the majestic Shannon. Free from all commercial traffic, and navigable for 220km with only 6 locks, this river and the lakes it flows through, make a delicious combination of natural landscapes and historic sites.

Pénichettes are uniquely designed luxury boat, which allow you to relax in spacious comfort during you holiday. For over twenty years, Locaboat has been designing and building Pénichettes in France. The whole range is comfortable and easy to handle, and is constantly being improved and updated to satisfy the demands of an international clientele.
The deck is one of the most acclaimed features of the Pénichette. Spacious, flat and right under the captain's eye, it can act as reading room, sunlounger or picnic table. Moving around the boat is easy and safe. Indoors, the saloon is the place for board games or intimate dinners.
