The
Shelbourne Meridien Hotel is situated in the heart of the city
of Dublin, in St Stephens Green, and holds an equally prominent
position in the history of that city and Ireland itself over
the past 150 years.Founded in 1824 The Shelbourne Meridien was
one of the first buildings of the period to have in-door electric
lighting. Its role in The 1916 Rising is well documented and
The Hotel was chosen as the location for the drafting of the
Irish Constitution in 1922. It remains to this day an acknowledged
focal point of social and political life and Dubliners still
drop by for the chat and the genial company. The rooms and suites
offer guests superb comfort, and many have truly beautiful views
of the gardens of St. Stephen’s Green. TheHotel provides complete
Banquet & Conferencing facilities and has several of Dublin’s
very best bars & restaurants.More recently, Dublin's first Exclusive
City Centre Health & Fitness Centre has been added, and this
completes for The Shelbourne a suite of guest facilities and
service that is second to none. Rooms and Suites at The Shelbourne
Meridien are especially well appointed and live up to the elegance
and charm of The Hotel. Many look out onto the gardens of St.
Stephen’s Green and all come with private bathroom, cable television,
direct dial telephone, radio, mini-bar, and 24 hour room service.
